Tucson Sustainable Fashion

April 24, 2016

On this day three years ago, the Rana Plaza garment factory building in Bangladesh collapsed, killing over a thousand people and injuring many more. In addition to a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives, April 24th has since become known as Fashion Revolution Day, where consumers show the tags of their clothing in order to ask retail companies, “Who made my clothes?” in a call for more transparency within the fashion industry. After watching a documentary called The True Cost, which exposes the many global impacts that make up the ‘price’ of the clothing we wear, Urbanite Runway decided to interview members of the Tucson community about the efforts they are making locally in order to move toward a more sustainable fashion industry. With this video we ask you, “what are people in your city doing to contribute?”
